Q: What does the word Kalosive mean?
A: Kalosive is derived from Kalos, a Greek word meaning beautiful by reason of purity and goodness. It was inspired by my wife's name, Glenda, based on the Welsh words glan (pure) and da (good). Kalosive expresses our hope that MyVerses will promote beautiful lives as people use it to memorize and meditate on the pure and good word of God.
Q: What translation does MyVerses use?
A: MyVerses is software that organizes the learning and review of your favorite Scripture passages. It is designed to be used with any translation. You determine the verse selection and translation(s) used in your personalized Scripture memory program. An assortment of methods are provided for adding your selections to the MyVerses database:

  • Copy and paste verses from a separate handheld Bible software program such as GMPSoft's Bible With You (www.gmpsoft.com), Laridian's MyBible (www.laridian.com), Olive Tree's Bible Reader (www.olivetree.com), Parson's QuickVerse PDA (www.quickverse.com), or Thomas Nelson's eBible (www.ebibleforpalm.com).

  • Import memo records created on your desktop computer and transferred to your Palm device during HotSync synchronization. This is an easy way to load Scripture copied from desktop Bible software or downloaded from one of the many online Bibles available on the Internet.

  • Manually enter verses using Graffiti or keyboard. (This may sound tedious, but can actually be a helpful part of the learning process.)

  • Send or receive records to and from other MyVerses users using the infrared beaming capability built into MyVerses.

Q: What verses should I memorize?
A: The easiest and most helpful verses to memorize are often those encountered in Bible study, teaching, or devotional books that address an area of interest or need in your own life.

Q: How can I tell if MyVerses has been registered?
A: The quickest way to tell if MyVerses has been registered is to look at the About MyVerses form.
To navigate to the About MyVerses form, select About MyVerses from the Info menu on the MyVerses menu bar. Info Menu
When the About MyVerses form is displayed, unregistered copies of MyVerses will have a Register button in the lower left-hand corner with the word UNREGISTERED displayed above the button. About MyVerses Form - Unregistered
Registered copies of MyVerses do not display either the Register button or the word UNREGISTERED. About MyVerses Form - Registered
Q: Why does MyVerses open to the Daily review list the first time it is used each day? Shouldn't it open to the Quarterly, Monthly, or Weekly list instead if there are verses due for review in any of those other categories?
A: As you have noticed, even if there are verses due for review in the Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly lists, MyVerses will open to the Daily list, if there are any verses in it, when you open MyVerses for the first time each day.

This is because you have until the end of the current week to review verses due in the Weekly list. Likewise you have until the end of the current month to review verses in the Monthly list, or the end of the current quarter to review verses in the Quarterly list. Verses in the Daily list, however, must be reviewed today if you are to stay "on track" with the review program.

The key concept to gasp is that verses in the Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly list are due by the end of the current week, month, or quarter. They do not all need to be done on any one particular day.
