MyVerses User's Guide Appendix B: MySetup

MySetup is a companion application for MyVerses that you may find helpful (Figure B-1). It performs two functions: First, it will load commonly used book names from the English Bible into the database for display when the Show Book List option is activated. Second, it will load sample verses into the database so you can quickly try out some of the features built into MyVerses. MySetup does not need to remain installed on your handheld device. Once you have completed the setup activities, it can be deleted to save memory space. Load Bible Book Names To load commonly used book names from the English Bible, tap on the Load Bible Book Names button (Figure B-2). You will be given an opportunity to select Old and New Testament book names, only Old, or only New Testament names. Indicate your preference by tapping on the appropriate selection and then tap the Load Selection button to perform the load (Figure B-3). MySetup will load more than one name for some books. For example, 2 Kings and II Kings both refer to the same book, as do Song of Solomon and Song of Songs. You can delete names you don't want to keep by using the Edit Book List form described in the Show Book List section of Chapter 8. Figure B-2 Load Bible Book Names selected. Figure B-3 Three different options are available when loading Bible book names. Load Sample Verses To load sample verses into the MyVerses database, tap on the Load Sample Verses button (Figure B-4). You will be given an opportunity to select between five different versions. Indicate your preference by tapping on the appropriate selection and then tap the Load Selection button to perform the load (Figure B-5). The sample selection consists of ten records. All records are created in the Learn category and may be easily deleted using the Purge Learn... command. Figure B-4 Load Sample Verses selected.
